Just finished the second season of Castle Rock (finally, I know) and I’m now watching that trending netflix doc “The Lady of Silence” (La Mataviejitas). Not even ten minutes in and I’m already pissed. The ineptitude and denial from the police is outstanding. Even when this investigator immediately makes the incredibly obvious connection between the crimes and points it and brings it to them: “Nah nah, stop watching your shows, you’re overreacting…” dude. The reaction from the police, in this case, reminds me of what happened in the case of Andrei Chikatilo (soviet serial killer), where the police “didn’t believe in serial killers” because that was an american thing— then the victims kept piling up cause they didn’t stop him soon enough when they could have. Same here, “Mexico doesn’t have serial killers” (“—well, since that one guy in the 1940’s”) sure sure. Meanwhile they not only ignored the most obvious possibility, they were so neglectful of crime scenes, letting the families of the victims to go in and clean it all up. 😑
Wonder how many elderly victims died before they did anything. Before they put their damn pride aside (if they ever did, which I doubt it) and took action.

βThat is the kind of fear that lives inside Anakin Skywalker: the dragon of that dead star. It is an ancient, cold dead voice within his heart that whispersall things dieβ¦β

I didn’t think I’d get the opportunity to put it back on again. So, this is a pretty neat thing, you know, all these years later.
